Can someone help me? My Altima won't start, at first I thought it was the steering lock but my symptom doesn't match since I can go from off to acc to on, and my radio turns on and brake lights also works. I attached a video of the problem I am having, the steering lock plug it attached to a steering lockbypass module but it's acting the same way in the steering lock and bypass. I don't think it's my steering lock. My steering wheel is also unlocked.

Thank You

Hello!

I believe contemporary electronics are quite robust, but mechanical failures (aka, gremlins) continue to thrive.

I'm thinking you may have an issue with the "clutch depressed switch" that tells the ECM it is good to go for engine start.

I've not had an opportunity to explore under the driver foot well but I'm thinking the switch should not be too hard to find. Maybe it has slipped out of adjustment? If you can source a schematic from our Forum, you may figure out how to jump the proper connections.

Although you may not be on a hill, it would be interesting to see if the car would "bump start" in third.

Good luck!

I have spoken too soon.

Just watched your video and your dash is not displaying the usual "lamp test" and other 411 that should be appearing.

How old is the battery and does it have a full charge? Terminals clean and tight? Perhaps disconnect the positive terminal, leave it off for 30 seconds and reconnect. Hard reboot?

I'm filling in here till everyone else on the Forum is done watching football.

I had it jump to another car , but only the radio turns on, I check and on the dash I only see the yellow key and immbolizer indicator light.

And for the clutch switch, it seem to depress when I push the clutch in, also even without the clutch depress shouldn't the dash lights turn on? For example for automatics even with the brake switch is out the dash light turns out

Yup, you should get a full dash display when clutch is in and start is enabled.

What are "yellow key" and "immobilized indicator"? Not familiar to me.

Does car thinks it's being stolen and going into shut-don't wn mode?

We locked our key inside once (in the trunk, away from a sensor" and when the locksmith appeared to prying open a door, he said we had 30sec to open the trunk and shut off the alarm, which we did. Otherwise car shuts down and needs a tow to dealer for reset.

Have you tried "Google"?
