Hi all,

I just purchased a 2008 altima coupe, i wanted one since they first came out.. So far I love it!!

I need some advice and would love some input.
The dealer i bought this certified used car is a personal friend. I currently have a option to trade it back for my old car or keep it as is..Here is the deal..

I am totally in love with my car and the way it drives.
It has 51,000 miles on it, the body has little to no defects it looks like it was garage kept. I paid 18,000 for it, its a 3.5se with the leather upgrade is that price good for the miles? My warrently covers me for 100,000 miles.

There are issues I see people have with brakes change shocks and struts and parts here and there is this common???

just a general question other 2008 owners how many miles do you have on you car and any major issues?

I just wanted to say im sticking with a coupe just want to make sure the value for the money is there..

IT is a nissan and I always had nissans with lil to no problem i had a 1995 altima a 2007 altima and have a 2008 maxima.. Love them

Well thanks for your time and input looks foward to talking with everyone

Congrats on the new car! and welcome to nico!

I think that's a decent price. I've seen a few 3.5 coups for sale lately with 80,000-95,000 miles for $16k-$17k.

I personally haven't heard of any issues with brakes or struts with stock suspension. I think 1 or 2 people with lowered cars have replaced a strut or two, but I don't think it's a common occurrence. My wife's coupe has 36,000 miles and her brake pads still have a good amount of wear left, my coupe has 21,000 miles and the pads are in great shape. I've also been lowered for about 15k miles and I have no issues as of yet, but there are guys with way more mileage than me will no issues.

I think IBCOUPE has a 3.5 with about 108,000 miles and he has reported 0 issues as well. I'm sure other guys will chime in with mileage updates.

post some pics of the new ride!

Im close to 60K miles and only major issue I had was the master brake cylinder going bad. That however, was covered under warranty. My brake pads/rotors went at about 50K miles, but you cant consider that an issue. Brakes wear out, it just depends on when.

As for the price, sounds about right. Although if this is a personal friend of yours I think you could have done a little better.

The other car you might take back is the Maxima? Did you trade that in? At what price? What are the specs on the Maxima?

Yea could have probably done a lil better I agree... Maxima 3.5SE 40,000 fully loaded. I actually traded in my old altima. got like 2800 for it.. and they gave me the 100, 000 warrenty

Breaks and rotors are expected :)

I think you could have got more for the Altima if its an '07 and in decent condition. I just got $13,500 for my GFs '07 Pontiac G6 with 55K miles.

I guess the 100K warranty makes up for it though. Good deal.

Yeah you got a good deal. The local infiniti dealership offered me 17,900 for mine a few months ago with 45k miles and I didn't have leather in it then. I didn't trade it but put leather and a dvd/nav system in it instead.
