Hello guys,
just joined NICO. I just picked up a 2008 altima coupe 3.5 SE about 2 weeks ago after trading in my old 2002 altima 2.5s for it. Gotta say so far i am in love with this car, has alot more power than i was used to with the 4cyl in my last altima :) . Anyways, the only thing that i dont like about it is the halogen lights that are in it :frown: .

Ive been reading around here and also doing some of my own research about upgrading to HID's, i know i need the full conversion kit. Ive just come to see what brand you guys recommend. So far ive seen 2 major brands that ive been looking into the most.

- Philips 4300k or 6000k
- DDM HIDs

Ive seen that alot of people like the DDM kits but ive heard that everything there is backordered and it could take a long time to get your kit. With philips, i think i recall but am not positive someone saying these were the brand that are factory installed on most vehicles. Basically i want the HIDs that have the factory look, like those installed on a maxima or 370z, or the leather package of the altima coupe, or something around that color scheme im not exactly sure what temprature the factory lights are. Anyways thats basically what im looking for color-wise.

Philips kits are more expensive at 269.99 for 1 kit plus 10.00 for shipping, but if DDM is as backordered as ive heard i dont wanna have to wait months to get my kit. I would like to get it installed preferably before i take my car back up to school with me.

One last question....If i were to take the kit to a local mechanic or shop would they be willing to install it. I know most of these kits are DIY's but it seems everytime i work on one of my cars something always ends up going wrong and not working  , or i break something so i dont feel like dealing with that, especially on a nice car like that.

Thank you

I have DDM 6K temp. 35 watt in both my head and fog lights. I have had no issues and the install was easy. True, DDM does occasionally send a backwards wired adapter, but you can fix it very easily and its still fully functional. At $55.00 delivered this was a no brainer for me. I ordered them separately and had both sets within a week and a half.

wow that does sound like a good price, just checked out their site and i have heard good things about them. I think i will most likely go with DDM because of the better price.

So now what temp. do you suggest i get for a factory look, im debating between 5000k and 6000k as of right now and cant seem to determine which one is the one i am looking for color wise.

Factory would probably be around 4K. The 6K is definitely a pure white.

Ok so ive pretty much decided on DDM... more within my budget.

But are the 35w 6000k lights completely white? I want the 6000k for the good light output they seem to give but i also want a hint of blue in my lights as well, i dont want the lights completely blue which it seems like is what the 8000k HIDs are.

Thanks for the responses guys.

There might be a SLIGHT touch of blue, but not much IMO.
