How many owners of the 2008 coupe or sedan, have or are experiencing brake sqeaking when they brake?

(my car has 9000k miles on it, and it seems like on the first stop, after the car has been sitting awhile, the brakes sqeak. after that, the sqeaking stops. seems like it doesn't more often in cold weather and in the rain)

has anybody took their car to a dealer and have it checked out?

There was a recall on some of the calipers... swing by a dealer one day and see if your car applies.

Hey, i have that same issue and i'm at about 28K km. I gotta get my tire sensors resync'd this weekend, i'll have them check for the recall.

I asked my dealership innocently if there was any type of recall on the brakes (I needed new pads anyway). Without looking to see how worn they were (so I would assume he's not biased) he stated that there was an issue with some of the pads grinding or squealing when there's dew/moisture etc on them at first but no functional problems with them. He also checked recalls for my VIN and the only one that came up was the passenger airbag which they tested and was fine.

What he said made sense and coincides with how my brakes were, and are now (replaced the front pads). Several people on the forum have had their calipers and pads replaced due to this bulletin though... So something doesn't add up.

makes sense. Im taking my car in saturday for a oil change and im going to have them check it out.. i called two different dealerships in the area and they said that the squeaking was normal and it just due to dirt or dust that builds up on the pads and or rotors. does ur sqeaking go away after the first stop you come to after pulling out of your house?

with mine, it happens the first srop or until the car warms up slightly. when its raining or cold outside, it does it more. i don't want them to touch my pads and calipers if there is no problem with them

Mine does it and it's annoying as hell. I spoke with the service department locally and he wasn't aware of any issues. Perhaps I should call another one.

Ya, that's how mine happens, worse when humid/wet but clears up after I brake the first time.

just to let everyone know, i took my 08 coupe into the dealership this weekend and they replaced my rear brakes, hardware, and turned the rotors because they heard the sqeaking and were able to duplicate the concern. i think there is some kind of recall for some coupe's rear brakes and you should ask the dealer about this when you go in. i took it first thing in the morning when it was cold so the noise could defintely get heard. don't do it when it hot or warm as the sqeaking is not obvious then

Mine has the same problem. I cannot stand it at all. We have nice new cars and when you pull up next to anyone and have to hear that high pitched squeak it drives me insane. I am scared to brake because I don't want to hear that noise. Also it only happens when it's cold or damp out, or at least only when I notice it. I will go to the dealership and find out what is what.
