So my 08 Altima Coupe 2.5L with 69k Air conditioning NEVER gets cold, only blows hot air.

The clutch wheel for the compressor does not spin but I'm trying to diagnose everything else before I go out and buy a new one. My friend who is an airplane mechanic checked the pressure in the system with a quality gauge and says it's within acceptable levels.

I have checked the fuse in the fuse box under the hood and it's good. I didn't see a listing for the AC in the interior fuse block next to the hood release latch and steering wheel. Am I missing it? Also, I've seen listings for a AC relay on Ebay and other sites like this

http://www.1aauto.com/1A/electrical-aut ... 4AodtUMA6Q

Can anyone tell me where the location of this relay is? I'd like to switch it with a identical one before I buy a new compressor.

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated, were in the middle of a heat wave here and my AC doesn't work AND my driver's side window doesn't roll down so I'm DYING haha.

Welcome to NICO!

Does it sound like the compressor is clutching on at all? If it isn't doing that, and you can't turn the wheel, I'm going to go ahead and say it's your compressor, but I'm not the best at troubleshooting A/C stuff. I'm sure others can chime in here.

Most of the relays are located near the battery under the hood if you still want to troubleshoot that piece of it. There should be a box to the right of the battery, but I could be confusing with 3.5 setup.

Can you turn the compressor clutch by hand to make sure it isn't seized?

I know on most cars that if the freon is low enough it won't allow the compressor clutch to engage. It might have a leak somewhere, Have you tried to put a can on r134 in just to see if it makes a difference? From what I've read it's acceptable/typical to lose a small amount of freon over a few years and still maintain good pressure in the system once it's recharged.

The AC system in my 1991 535i did something similar. Slowly over like 5 years the air got warmer and warmer. Took it to the shop and it held vaccuum and they didn't detect any leaks so he refilled the system after I replaced the receiver/dryer and two 3¢ orings.....it's been almost a year and the air is still ice
Cold.

I don't know about the relay, but that along with throwing in a bottle of r134 for good measure will be your cheapest option. If that doesn't work then you might have to spend some $$ lol

This happened with my 2008 Altima Coupe too. I ended up having to dish out the 1000+ $ to get a new compressor.
