Yea I heard it wouldn't fit, but I'm not too familiar with cars and I'm in the process of leaning so I could be wrong.SanoSuKe wrote:Isn't it the same thing for 2.5 and 3.5? except you need an extra part added for the 3.5, correct me if I'm wrong tho..
I've looked and looked and saw nothing that was for my car, I was hoping someone else was selling them but every site I was referred to didn't have the nismo :/beeristasty wrote:you should google what you're looking for. i'm sure you'll find a zone online that sells nissan parts...
you're right I don't know why my second choice was stillen being that it is quieter than I'd like in an exhaust. I think I just liked that fact that it is a full cat back exhaust.SEismyG wrote:Nismo is a throaty exhaust right...there's exhausts out there that are throaty as well...going from 1st choice Nismo to 2nd choice Stillen is a little weird because you're going from "loud" to "quiet" in a sense. There's Tanabe, Magnaflow, and my favorite Borla that will offer a throaty sound kind of like what you're looking for...this is all name brand stuff, there's always the custom route as well. Good luck
You guys are right about the Borla, I've been doing a lot of searching on reviews and watching videos on youtube and I must say that exhaust is beastly. I think I'm starting to like it more than I did the nismo. The only thing that turned me off about borla was that it was just an axleback and I kinda wanted the full catback, but after doing some reading I've learned that the full catback isn't really necessary. I really want to add the y-pipe to the mix to give it an even better sound with more hp gains but I just don't want to deal with something that is illegal, my mechanic already told me if its not carb approved he can't install it cause he can get fined for it. Plus for some reason cops always gave me extra attention on the road. Do you think the Borla is worth it if I don't get the Y-pipe? If I replace the mid pipe would it give it an even more intense sound?funkee wrote: You have two options in my opinion:
1- Buy the 2.5 version, and get the missing pipe fabricated. It's a small piece, and it wouldn't cost more than $100 to get that done. If you live in Nor Cal, I can even suggest a guy.
2- Go for another brand. I suggest Borla, even though it is an axle-back exhaust. That means that your mid-pipe will remain stock, as opposed to a cat-back. The mid-pipe connects the catalytic converted on your stock y-pipe to the rear exhaust. The mid-pipe is not worth replacing, although you can get an exhaust bender to make you one.
Pair the Borla with a Y-pipe and the car sings. There's a low, thunderous rumble on a cold start, and from 800 to 3,500 RPM. I love revving the car in a garage or driving through a tunnel. The sound generated when you hit the throttle can best be compared to Barry White accidentally sitting on a vibrator.
If you get the Borla, also get the Racingline Y-Pipe. It's not too loud, and there isn't much drone inside. Dollar for dollar, the y-pipe gives you the best power gains and takes the sound to a new level. Considering that you can get the Borla and a Y-Pipe for the amount you would have paid for the Nismo exhaust back in the day, I'd go with option #2. If you live in the US, the best price anywhere is on Amazon - and shipping is free. And let me tell you, you don't want to have to pay to ship this humongous thing. Heck you can't even fit the box in your car... trust me, I've tried. You'll need to unpack it or take a second car to get it installed.
