I have the non-bose stereo system in my 2.5 and I am looking to get an aftermarket deck and speakers. I was wondering what type of deck is good? I see a lot of people with the pioneer avic...what about the jvc kd-nx5000, any word on that one? plus, what types of speakers are needed for my vehicle and what kinds are really good quality? is it difficult to install the deck and speakers on my own, and what would it possibly run me to get the deck and all speakers installed? thanks for all the info.

Hey, welcome to the club!

I have the Pioneer DEH-P880RS and I love it! You can basically adjust everything audio to suit your car's environment and it sounds amazing. I basically use all JL Audio products except for my headunit, so my amp is a JL500 and I have 2-10w3v2 subs that sound amazing in a custom box. I have yet to replace all the other speakers because I haven't found exactly what I am looking for and don't want to blow money on something I'm not going to like.

As far as the install, a knowledgeable friend is the best thing because you can help them and learn how to do it yourself. If one of those aren't handy, then get it installed at a reputable shop. I don't know what the prices would be because I did mine myself, but I'm sure it isn't that bad.
