2008 A/C bose non nav aftermaket headunit question

Greetings Nico,

I just picked up a new to me 2008 A/C with the Bose system, but non nav. I am interested in upgrading the soundsystem with something aftermarket.

I spoke to somebody at Crutchfield and they said with a certain harness they sell, I can use the aftermarket HU with the stock speakers/amp setup.

My question is, will I be losing audio quality by replacing the bose HU with the Pioneer? Is this headunit more powerful than the stock bose HU?

I plan on upgrading my entire system over time, but can't justify an extra $1500 to drop on everything (speakers, sub, amps)

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
