just got a 2008 350Z and i'm having what might be, in the long run, a problem...

the parking lot in our office is as such that whenever i try to get on the ground floor, the underbody of the car will scrape since it's at an upward angle

i had someone with me yesterday and it scraped in the middle, today i was alone and it scraped along the back. on the way out nothing happens as i'm on a slope, but i'm worried this will cause some permanent damage at some point or other.

any tips/advice on what to do here? the only thing i can see myself doing is going at a 45 degree angle (sideways basically) but this would entail me going against the flow of traffic just before the entrance, which is fine because its about 5 metres only...

anyway, any insight would be great.

thanks fellas.

Try angling the car where the incline starts and ends. This effectively shortens the overhang and wheelbase that is parallel to the road. A lot of lowered cars do this in driveways and over speedbumps to avoid scraping.

most components are protected. Next time you get an oil change ask the mechanics if you can peek under your car for like a minute.

check out underneath of this car...most of your car's critical sytems are tucked away safely

and if you are really paranoid, get skid plates welded on, will add some weight, and change the underside look, but will protect you very well against damaged components
