Hey guys, I have a 2007 Nissan Versa Sedan and want to change the Automatic Transmission Fluid... Is it as simple as unscrewing the drain plug and draining out the fluid and then re-filling it? A couple questions:

Is there a filter I should change as well or not worry about it?
Where exactly is the plug located?
What type of ATF should I buy?

Thanks!
David

Yes the drain plug is under the drivers side - I believe it is 17mm bolt, you really can't miss it.
Before you drain the fluid check that you have the right amount in the trans case - My versa was over filled by .5 litres, probably be the dealership.
When I got the fluid at the right level, 3.7 Litres drained, I also let it drain for a hour or so, to get more fluid out. However, if you are going to do 3-4 drain and refills, a couple of minutes to drain should suffice.

Once you drain the fluid, put the bolt back in, remove the transmission dip stick and grab a long nose funnel and SLOWLY re-fill through the tube. Note - do this while the engine is OFF. Then start car and leave in park for a few minutes for the fluid to recirculate. Do some city driving for a few more minutes and rinse and repeat.

Any questions just ask.
I have been using Valvoline Maxlife DexIII ATF.
Cheers
