how do i confirm fried ecm

There was a big recall in the last couple of years for Nissan CVT issues. You might want to go to www.safercar.gov and type in your car's vin# to see if it's part of that recall. I'm not sure if it affected the first generation of Versa or if it was just the 2nd generation Versa.
