2007 Versa Engine swap wiring harness problem

My wife blew the engine in her 2007 Versa Hatchback SL late last year. She loved the car so much I decided to put it in our garage and do the engine swap myself. I have never done and engine swap but have done about everything else so after reading the forums thought it could be something I could tackle.

For all my due diligence I over looked something. The new motor is from a 2008 Versa Sedan S and it had a non-CVT transmission and my wife's car has a CVT transmission. that fact got passed me until I compared the wiring harnesses. Has anyone gone down this path before? Is it possible to splice the CVT plug into the new harness? Hopefully I don't have to replace the transmission. Any suggestions would be helpful!!
