Nissan just announced that they will be offering Cruise Control as an option in their 2008 Versa S. I wonder if that means Nissan will finally offer to install Cruise Control in their 2007 sedans? One can only hope!

if you want cruise control probably have to trade in your 2007. it will be to much work or impossible to install it , since cruise control is integrated in the ecu. all new cars run by wire.

Actually because most newer criuse controls are electronic, theres little mechanical things to install so its actually pretty easy. I used to install oem cruise on the Scions at Toyota and it was a very easy install. Power, ground, tap into speed sensor wire and a few more things. not much to it, I'm sure the Nissan unit is not much different, would be worth a look.

That would be great! Everytime I take one of the cars in for an oil change - I plan on asking my Service Representative.

Thanks for the information.

Hi:

I'm in the process of negotiating the purchase of a 2008 Versa 1.8S hatchback. My dealer in Winnipeg, Canada, claims that the "at-cost" cruise installation will be $690. The value of the cruise option for a 2008 Versa on nissanusa.com is only $200. Do you know if these would be the same systems? Do you know if there would be any compatibility issues if I visited a U.S. dealer to have cruise installed in my 2008 Versa purchased in Canada?

Thanks for your suggestions!

It seems that to add factory cruise control to the Versa requires the changing of the BCM (Body Control Module) which makes the option price prohibitive. That leaves the aftermarket solution offered here: http://www.thecruisecontrolsto...v=2.0

It is too bad that Canadian Nissan Versa S models are not offered with CC as an option as in the US. Perhaps you can buy your Versa in the States?

The "At cost" installation of the cruise control is definitely NOT going to be the same system. The dealer is not likely to go through the trouble of replacing the steering wheel (for the controls), BCM (for the control), ASCD switch and system, as well as other related parts.

That sounds like an aftermarket install.

No need to replace the steering wheel. The factory cruise control switch can be bought for under $50 and placed on a non cruise steering wheel. Still, the cost and complex nature to add the factory cruise seems prohibitive.
