2007 versa auto cuts out at 2000 rpm

2007 versa automatic. While in park or neutral the engine will rev up when pushing the gas pedal. If I shift into any forward or reverse gear the car will idle fine but it cuts out at 2000 rpm. Almost like a rev limiter. Any thoughts?
