I need help figuring out if a wheel/tire combo will fit on my '07 SE-R Spec V. I have gotten different answers from different performance shops so if anyone has or knows anyone who has expertise in wheel and fitment please help me out. I want to put on Axis Hiro 18"X8.5" wheels with 225/40/18 Nitto NT555 tires. Stock wheels on '07 Spec V are 17"X7" with a 225/45/17 tire. I know it is going to be close with the width fit, some people have told me with a 45mm offset I'd be ok and others said I may need to roll the fender reguardless, which i don't want to do. The folks at Axis customer service said they haven't tested the fitment on my car yet, so I'm tossed up with what to do. I really like the look of that wheel and the next best option is the Axis Reverb which looks kind of similar, but is only 7.5" wide and I would like at least 8" width. Any advice or answers would be helpful. Thanks.

At 225/40/18 you WILL NOT have any issues with rubbing at +42 or +45 offsets. Your total wheel/tire diameter will only change by 0.1 inch from 25.0 inches to 25.1 inches and the circumference changes from 78.5" to 78.8". Your speedo will be off by only 0.5% so if it reads 60 mph, you're actually going traveling at 60.3 mph. Get the wheels you want with the 225/40/18's and be happy!!

By the way, if you don't want to chance it (but trust me, it'll fit), get the Axis Reverbs. I think those wheels are nice!! I almost bought those myself, but I ended up with a nice set of forged 18's from RAYS instead

appreciate the input. i thought i would be ok at a 42 or 45 offset, but after calling axis back they told me that in the 18" hiro they stopped making a 45 offset and only have 35 now. plus they don't make the anthracite finish in 18" anymore which is what i wanted. i decided to go with an 18"X8" R-1 Racing Drift wheel in hyperblack. it comes in a 40mm offset which is almost perfect at that width and has a massive 3 1/4" lip. its also a lot lighter than the other wheels i was looking at. should be here later this week so i'll post a couple pics after i get them on.
