On Tuesday I purchased a brand new Sentra 2.0S with the Convience package. I want to add Sirius to the car (I have a lifetime subscription on a Starmate from my old vehicle). I called the parts department of the dealership I bought the car from and the quoted me a price of $590 to have Sirius added to the car. (this includes the brain, antenna, and all the labor) My question is this something I need to have done by the dealer? Is there a third party brain I could buy? I would appreciate any help you can provide. I am new to this and if you can provide any other resources I would appreciate it.

Dealerships charge out the butt. Look for a reputable car audio store in your area, or even Circuit City, or buy the stuff yourself. Crutchfield.com will most likely have Sirius equipment for your car and their tech support and customers service is probably the best of any business I have ever dealt with. Check out the website and then call their tech support line to find out what they have for your car. I don't know how easy/hard it is to add things like that to the Sentra, especially since it has the convenience package, but they will be able to tell you that.
