2007 Sentra 2.0 radio upgrade help

Hi all. I posted in the General section, but I thought I'd try here too.

I'm trying to upgrade the basic factory radio in my wife's 2007 Sentra 2.0. It's the most basic radio available in the Sentra. She wants the upper model line radio instead. You know the one with RDS(Radio Data System) that shows the artist/title of song playing on the radio.

I'm at a loss and can't find any info to help me.

So basically you need a complete head unit for this upgrade. You might check ebay for one forsale that somebody has upgraded to something else. You can check our classifieds, but it seems to be an new/odd item that probably won't be floating around most forums just yet.

Thanks. Ebay has nothing. Classifieds have nothing either. I know there have to be people who have replaced this H/U with an aftermarket. I'm just having no luck finding one.

GL on finding one since that unit is also the display for the MPG meter, external temp, distance to empty, average speed and the door open warning. I don't know that many who would want to get rid of all those features.

Also i have so far found little use for RDS as not every station has it for every song. Most of them so far just shows the name of the station.

Thanks gotak. I know that I'm looking at a tough battle finding a take-off, but it seems like somebody out there would have changed one out by now.

Got an idea...I'm replacing my radio, I HATE the 6 disc changer AND the trip computer (always wrong) if you have a charcoal interior AND want to give me your cubbyhole, I'll sell you my changer AND the damn trip computer...but I don't know FOR SURE if it will work in a car that's not meant to have it, but I can at least sell you the changer.

Did the radio upgrade work? I'd also be interested in swapping my base radio for the "S" radio. Does anyone have one for sale?

Does anyone know the location of this sensor? I think it is located in front of the radiator, but can someone with a 2.0s check? I have a 2.0 and just swapped out my radio for the 2.0s information center--everything works except for the temperature reading. I think I'm missing the sensor and would like to install it...the problem that the display shows -22 F and does not change....

I'm not sure where your looking, but there are tons of these radios on ebay. I upgraded mine b/c I wanted to add sat radio. Don't go with the rockford fosgate one unless you are planning on getting the underseat amp and new speakers. Just go with the mid-grade radio with the trip computer screen.


If you really can't find one I have an extra I'd sell for cheap, but the faceplate has a few nicks in it.

So, can it be done? I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra, 6 speakers and regular radio/CD with a trip computer. I want to put a Rockford Fosgate unit that plays 6 CDs and plays MP3. I don't know if it can be done, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't because in today's market you can install anytime of after market radios in any car, so why wouldn't be possible? Can anyone help me with this question? Thank you!
