Out of the blue my wife's Quest would not start. The battery has been tested and is fine. All fuses have been checked and they are all good. I'm thinking it might be the starter, but for the life of me I can't locate the starter to remove and or check it. Does anyone know where I can locate the starter?

Also as we were looking around the engine compartment we noticed that there are some wires that look like they have been....chewed? Could these wires being cut/chewed cause the van to not start? I'm not very tech savvy with cars (computers are my thing). I would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter. Thank you!

My father in law came over with all his tools (he's and electrical engineer), and he attached some temporary wires to the cut/chewed wires to see if they were the culprit. As soon as we did that, the van started up no problem! He spliced the wires back together and now the van is back up and running! Thank god we didn't have to pay for a new starter!

thanks for the update; this section of the forums are pretty quiet just because this awesome site has links to the factory service manuals...

good thing you didn't have to go underneath to remove/replace the starter
