2007 pathfinder 4wd light illuminated

For the life of me I can't find a single thing about this topic anywhere on the internet. It's just the 4wd light illuminated and 4wd is inop. No auto, no high, no lo. I'm assuming there's a solenoid or electric motor somehwere but I can't seem to find anything about it. Has anyone had the same problem or does anyone know what/where I should be checking to fix the problem?

Check the oil in your transfer case. Also check to see if you are loosing fluid from your rear output shaft seal
