I have a situation where when I start my 2007 quest that gas gauge reads fine then after driving for a bit it drops to 0 ...then comes back on eventually.
I have had this recall done but it did not fix it

any ideas on what to try next? is it the ECU?

That sounds like a ground issue with the sensor, but it could also be a malfunction in the "signal amp" that gets installed for the recall. Unfortunately Nissan doesn't provide any real documentation for the amp, but you should still show a solid ground to the chassis from the cluster through the amp. Ordinarily I'd recommend ohming the Black wire on pin 5 of the fuel pump connector back to the chassis at the cluster, but I'm pretty sure there's no service access for the pump on your Quest, the tank needs to drop. So I'd try a new amp first, and check the pin-fits on all the intervening connectors.

Yes, but let me make sure I'm understanding things. Did this problem happen after the recall, or did it preexist? If it preexisted then you almost certainly have a bad connection someplace in the wiring. Extra resistance anyplace in the circuit will make the gauge read low, and an open circuit (infinite resistance) will make it read Empty.

it was before the recall as well, this seems to have made it better to some extent
here is what i am going to try
-1 clean and reseat battery post
-2 find and clean engine grounds

see if that improves it

could this be related to a ECU/ECm/PCm issue
https://www.fs1inc.com/2007-nissan-ques ... -play.html
also when i got this back from the dealership passenger window rolls down unless you hold window controls up and now driver side window doesn't roll down at all
dealer ship said it might be the Body Control Module not ECM

i dont think 2007 nissan quest have a BCM just the ECU under front window passenger side...is that correct

No, it has a BCM. There's a complete FSM for your ride here in Nico if you want to get into earnest diag:

You'll find the power window stuff here:

The BCM is up behind the dashboard, see page GW-18 in the link I gave you.

I am having problems visualizing from that diagram , any chance you have a photo? Also can I just swap in another BCM from the same year and model?

No, but you're looking from the passenger seat toward the driver's A-pillar with the dashpad and steering wheel removed. It's bolted against the base of the A-pillar.

Yes if you have steel keys, no if you have I-Keys. Even with steel keys you'll need to have a locksmith reregister the keys. The only way to use a used BCM with I-Keys is to use new I-Keys, the only way to use used I-Keys is with a new BCM.

DO NOT GO BY MODEL AND YEAR. There will be a part number on your existing BCM, it needs to match exactly.
