Hello everyone

I need some serious help here I’ve been racking my brain for the last 48 hours I install the new double din and backup camera and now my climate control lights and shift indicator won’t illuminate I checked all the fuses doesn’t seem to be the issue I did pop my tail light fuse installing the radio at one point but any help would be greatly appreciated as I troubleshoot it all I know how to.

That stuff all runs off the taillamp relay, it's a grey wire on IPDM pin 57 that turns red after a splice in the engine box and stays red through 49G in the SMJ connector (E152:M31). Past the SMJ everything except the power window switches is on a common bus inside the Main Harness, there are no intervening connections. Check other stuff like your Hazard Switch, VDC Off switch, Door Mirror switch, etc. If they're all out then maybe you blew the fuse again, or maybe scorched a supply wire the first time it blew.

Thanks for the reply do you think it’s possible that I blew the bulbs on the climate control and the shift selector? Or more likely a scorched wire like you had mentioned?

All the backlighting is on a common bus.

It means the bulbs are all fed by the same two power and ground wires, it's all common.

Looks like the new bulb won’t light. This is so Frustrating. Do you think I can bypass power to it ?

Sure, you can jump either power or ground (whichever is bad) from any other bulb that is working.

If you mean the front side marker, then yes, it's on the same fuse and relay as the backlights but uses a different wire coming from the IPDM.

Ok thanks So much for your help I really appreciate the feedback and Help. Just a quick recap I don’t have lights on the indicator shifter or the climate control backlit or one yellow driver side rear light it clicks on and off when you unlock or lock the doors. I have checked all fuses and even swapped some relays over to see if that was the issue everything seems to be working in cabin lights windows power locks hazards third brake light fogs etc. I just made an appointment do you have my mechanic look at it.
