Are the aero bits on the 2007 NISMO functional or are they strictly cosmetic? If they are functional, are you aware of any official Nissan claims to that effect or any independent testing that found actual aero gains from the splitter and rear spoiler?

Thanks for the info! It's good to see they are functional, if only marginally so (18lbs of lift on base car vs. 33 lbs of downforce with NISMO aero add ons).

Reading the links brings up another question, though. What are Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). More importantly, are either part of, or code words for, stability contol? And if stability control is involved, can it be shut off competely? I searched but didn't find the answers to those specific questions.

yes they are functional. On an rx7 the tested out the gt wing and it made about 1 sec different in the runs.

Believe me when I saw its completely functional. From my stock 350z to my Nismo, its a very different car at above 100 mph. Incredibly stable actually.

Not with those tires they're not! Your tires will explode at 80.

Bald tires, though z rated, may not be stable at freeway speeds.
