I called the Hartford CT dealer today to ask what I need to do to update the navigation in my G35X. The data is now 18 months old. They said I have to go to a web site http://www.zenrin.com to get a coupon to bring to the dealer. Did I ever tell you how bad our local dealer is? So I go to the website and plug in my info - it says that there is no new data for a 2007 G35? It offers the ability to get an email notice when one does become available. So I try to sign up for the email and guess what? There's no option for 2007, only goes up to 2006. Tell me it ain't so, Jo Jo! Is this fact or just another example of my dealers incompetence? Can a Nissan dealer do this?

If you select coupe instead of sedan, there's an update. I wonder what's going on with Zenrin. I would call and speak to somebody instead of taking the website for face value.

The new update came out in November this year. i believe its 7.4 for the newer nav system. 6.7 for the older nav system.

Does anyone know what MO the 7.4 started showing up in? I wonder if my new '08 has the 7.4. Any way to find out for sure?

As a side note, my boss has a M35 that's an '06 (I think). He said is nav is set up all crappy in that when entering an address, he can't choose city first, so when he enters the stree (ex - Main St), it gives him like every Main street in the country, so he's got to scroll through until he finds what he's looking for. I know the newest M's nav is like mine where you can choose the city first (city button bottom left). Does anyone know if this feature is part of the disk upgrade, or is it part of the system itelf? I assume the updates are maps only, not interface. TIA

I don't have a navi but it has to be an easier way. On my aftermarket navi I have the option to select city first. I am sure it is possible with the Infiniti navi also.

My nav has it set up in a certain state first...then you choose the city/street or whatever

The 7.4 nav update was released just this year in Nov 2008. So, unless you buy a car after Nov 18 ish you dont have the new nav update.

I received this a couple of days ago when I asked where or when the update for my 2008 would be available?

So for now it looks like we have been forgotten. In my case the dataset was way behind when it was released. For example if I look for a movie theatre by name - Regal, I get one listed that has been a church for a few years now. Various housing developments that have been present for a few years now do not have any streets or addresses associated with them. Roundabouts that have been added don't exist. Very outdated when released.
