2007 Murano SL - Can not turn off alarm!!!! Going crazy!!

We are going crazy - we can not turn off the car alarm.

We purchased a 2007 Murano SL used yesterday and it is currently sitting in a shopping parking lot as we got out of the car on our way home to go into a store - and could not drive home after the alarm got set off.

We have the key fob/keyless entry and a manual key. We can get into the car (unlock it, lock it, etc.) but can not start the car, and even getting in and out of the car sets off the alarm. Pretty much doing anything sets off the car. It will start honking/blinking lights and will only stop if we stop trying to hit buttons or start the car. After and hour of trying we finally gave up and left the car. We are going back in the morning to try again...or have it towed....or something...

How do you shutoff the alarm? We tried what the manual said to hit the unlock button, or unlock the car using the key - but that just sets the alarm off again. Any other ideas?

Sorry to hear about the wacky problem! Sounds like something is goofy there. Yes, the un-lock on the key fob turns off the alarm. Did you maybe try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it? That might reset or clear the problem, it is probably worth a shot.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago with a rented car... At about midnight outside our hotel, the alarm would not shut off - I don't even remember turning it on!

What finally did it for us was to lock the doors then reopen with the key. I hope by now your's is quiet!
