My problem as follows: Bought the car used, still under warranty but don't have time at the moment to take to local dealer so I am hoping that someone has seen the issue before and has a quick fix. When setting up the memory position for mirrors and seats everything went smooth. A few weeks ago the problem started. When I select position #2 the driver side mirror would drop to the lowest position and click, trying to to go lower. I don't have backup assist turned on and selector switch is in the middle for the mirrors so the mirrors shouldn't move, if I understand the manual. Then once I put it in drive, the driver side mirror goes all the way up and tries to continue to go further. At first it was only on position #2 but now #1 is starting to do the same but only once in a while.BTW its my wifes car and having the 2 position memory is important.

Thanks,Nick

Sounds like youtr having troubles with the BCM that handles the mirrors. Take it to the dealer and let them handle it.

With the car still under warranty, best bet is to follow Maxim;s suggestion. But I recall having a similar problem long time ago. What happened was that somebody manually pushed my mirror (can't remember which one) to an extreme position and gave me a 'clicking' sound when I try to adjust it in one direction. All I did was to manually re-center the mirror and the problem went away.

In your case, it's possible that somebody pushed your mirror downwards so when you use the memory function, it tries to go to the preset position but can't go any further after initial movement since it's already at maximum travel. Try tilting the mirror by a few clicks upwards and see what happens. You may have to reset the memory 1/2 if this works.

You and your wife have different memory seat positions and thus different presets for the side mirrors, hence less effect on your wife's mirror setting.

unplug the negative battery terminal and let the car sit for 10 minutes with no power.

make sure to write down all of your favorite radio stations before you remove terminal.

with it unplugged, you will reset all electronics in your car.

the only bad part of this, you will need to enter all of your radio stations and time. You can then re-adjust your seat and stearing wheel.

Ended up taking to the dealer to check out, They ordered me a new mirror to replace it (under warranty). Hope it works.
