Just got a letter from Nissan that the warranty for my 2007 SE's transmission has been extended to 120k miles or 10 yrs. If this is a duplicate of another thread, then please feel free to delete this one.

That's a very good warranty. Is there any reason why it was extended?

Notification letter says that Nissan had received complaints about the high cost of CVT repairs, post-warranty. They decided to extend the warranty on the CVT to 10 years/120k miles. Although the letter specifically addressed Maximas, I suppose they might include all Nissans with that transmission.

Folks, this is interesting. Do you think it is restricted to the US only?? I live in Canada and have not received any letter. Maybe I should contact the dealership.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sure wouldn't hurt to contact either your dealer or Nissan directly. I just received my letter three or four days ago, so could be you have a "letter in t he mail."
