I don't have bluetooth in my car, but I do have a Verizon phone that has VZ Navigator. My guess would be that if you don't have problems using the regular phone functions with your car's bluetooth system, that the issue lies with the VZ Navigator application.
If VZ Nav has never worked with your car, Im assuming the VZ program itself was not intended to work with bluetooth. And because you can hear the turn-by-turns on the phone itself when bluetooth is dissabled, I can again assume that the Navigator is not meant to use Bluetooth.
I don't know that VZ Navigator has an update yet, but you might try dialing *228 on your phone. This will update your phone's OS and possibly update downloaded applications. Car's navigation systems have to have new map DVDs to update the maps, so Im thinking that the VZ Nav has to update it's maps somehow (and possibly update the program itself - which may mean adding bluetooth capabilities to the program).
