As a new owner of a 07 Infiniti M45 I was struggling with really determining what a Sport was versus a Base. My job affords me the luxury of looking at factory build data for different types of VINs. So, I pulled the below information together to help me set the record straight. The data is what it is and is supplied by the manufaturer to the VIN data providers used by many car sites like Autotrader, Cars.com, etc. Maybe ya'll can benefit from this as well.
I created a new thread for this mainly because this is specific to 2007 and the M45. Not sure if the M35 is the same or other model years.
Keep in mind if an item is not on here then it is fair game on either a Sport or non. For example, wood grain can be on either therefore is not represented here. Only if the option is specific to a sport did I list it here.
Air conditioningSport: Interior air filter standardNon Sport: Interior air filter optional
Angle of Approach:Sport: 15.8Non Sport: 15.6
Angle of Departure:Sport: 15.6Non Sport: 15.9
Front seats:Sport: sport seats with pipingNon sport: non sport seats
Ground Clearance:Sport: Sport: 5.3Non Sport: 5.1
Overall Height:Sport: 59.5Non Sport: 59.4
Rear seats:Sport: Does not have seperate heat controlsNon sport: Does have seperate heat controls (if equipped)

WeightSport: 3995 curb weightNon Sport: 3948 curb weight
Wheels:Sport: 8.5/19Non Sport: 8/18

There is nothing in the VIN that indicates the vehicle is a Sport. Some sites may advertise the VIN as Base/Sport or vice-versa as a result.
