First of all Hello all,

I just bought an '07 with 88k and I am strongly considering keeping it (initially bought for resale since I own a small auto brokerage).

I have owned many nissans and I am very familiar with the VQ Engines and their issues such and oil consumption, chain rattle bad pre cats etc.

Are these particular models known for anything because I plan to keep it long term.

Any info will be appreciated! :yesnod

Great great engine and transmissions... A bit thirsty with the amount of torque this car has if you like to step on it... Only noticeable thing would be keep an eye on the oil level for oil consumption... If it's got a good history and maintenance you should be good!! AFS headlights tend to go out on some (around $1250 each). Drivers seat tends to wear prematurely if you haven't yet noticed on yours.

Overall these are excellent cars!! Very fun to drive!!

I maintain my car as best as I can and my car has no issues and I'm about to hit 100k. I've driven it hard since I picked it up with 32kmi and no problems with the engine or transmission. Maintenance is key.

Was that a sales plug?

Thanks guys. I'm just cautious when it comes to expensive maintenance and repairs. I plan to baby it. It has 88k miles and drives strong. I think the headlight servo is doing something since it makes noise when the car is idling. Hope there is a cheaper alternative like (leaving the adaptive feature off

I have 126,535 on my odo and here are the list of things that I have done repair wise on my 2006 M45 Sport

-2 Sets of Tires
-Normal wear/tear maintenance items per schedule
-Replaced Engine Mount (Driver side)
-Replaced Power Steering Pump
-Replaced front driver side control arm (bearing bad/caused tire wear/alignment issues)
-Power Driver seat moves about 1 inch front and back while accel/decel when not fully positioned back
-CD Changer wont eject or play cd's anymore, have to use the DVD player to play music now or ipod connection
-Passenger side AFS making noise but still works (the little gears are bad)
-normal oil consumption (about 3/4 qt every 3,000 miles - its low when changed so I just top off 1/4 qt every 1200 or so when needed)

No sales plug here... I loved my M45 over my M35 and G35S all day everyday!! Only major work I ever did to my M45 was 60k service which only REQUIRED belts since they showed wear but I opted for coolant service and transmission service for more reliable performance in the long run...(my thoughts). Other than that these cars are very much maintenance free... Oil change regularly and you'll be fine!! Headlight still will light up and should work only thing will be the afs system won't make it turn and noise may or may not go away :gotme

I've had 2 M35's and a 45.
Just had one of each until my cousin needed a car. When it was time to decide on which one to sell her, there was no hesitation... the 45 is still in my garage.
Replaced the 35 with another QX. My wife and I love our Infinitis.
