Looking at a great deal on 2007 M45 sport. As you know, advanced tech option was not available on this sport model. I was told by sales people that the wiring in the center armrest can be accessed to allow auxillary input (didn't say IPOD but likely the RCA plugs that would have been part of Dolby 5.1 system). The car has the upgraded sound system as part of technology option.

Anyone know how one might add MP3/IPOD player access in a 2007 M45?

Thanks for any info.

(Now I could just order the new 2008 Sport with advanced tech package but my creditors are balking at that option!)

I have a 2007 M45 Sport also. I do not have the dvd player option that offers the RCA inputs in the armrest, so I've had to look at different ways to add my Ipod. I couldn't find any solution that works directly with the user interface with the stock stereo, so I'm adding an input adapter that will allow me to keep the satellite radio, and add the Ipod. I am also using a craddle that will have the plug in the bottom, so that I can just drop the Ipod in the craddle without hooking up a wire. Here are the parts I'm using:

Kuda Mounting Base:http://www.kudausa.com/kuda_mo....html

Dice Ipod Craddle:http://www.diceelectronics.com...s.htm

Peripheral PXNI Dual Input Adapter:http://www.peripheralelectroni...initi

PIE Universal Ipod Adapter:http://www.pie.net/pie_store/s...bc=noI like this one because it can keep charging the Ipod after you turn the car off.

All the parts are on order, and I hope to get everything up and running in about a week.

Here are some good pictures from someone else:sho...+ipod

They indicated the wiring was actually still in the center counsel even if you hadn't odered the advanced option, just reguires an extension cable (this would be for the RCA option and no text displayed) and of course no charging.

I haven't taken my arm rest apart to see, but I remember that the RCA plugs that I've seen were integrated into the back of the arm rest as part of the video system. It's possible that something is there, but I've never found anything on the various websites discussing that as an option. Everyone who seems to be using an Ipod with the RCA jacks, is sending the sound in through that video system. When I get my parts, I'll take the arm rest apart to see if there is an easier way with something that is already built-in.

This is strange, because I have a 2007 M45 with the advanced tech option? I have the DVD player as well as the RCA inputs on the back of my armrest...

I was told the advanced tech option was removed mid-stream from the M45 because of weight/mileage issues (Infiniti was not meeting gov. restrictions). Frustrating for me because no M45 Sports on lots now with the better stereo system!

How did your Ipod connection work? I have the same car and want to do something like that. Rich

Everything worked great. I did run into one problem with the Peripheral PXNI Dual Input Adapter. My installer was in a building when installing the equipment. I have the Sirius tuner, and the PXNI sits between the Sirius tuner and the stereo, and outputs the signal into Memory Bank B, Preset 1. We weren't getting any sound, then realized that the Sirius tuner must be getting a signal, for it to trigger the PXNI to then block that signal, and insert the iPod signal. When I pulled the car out of the garage, the Sirius tuner picked up the signal, and then the PXNI worked. The iPod started playing through Bank B, Preset 1 (the GPS screen still thinks it's getting the Sirius station that was programmed on that button before, so it shows that text, nothing from the iPod.) I was concerned that if I was driving somewhere listening to the iPod, and I then drove into a garage or tunnel, that I would lose the iPod signal if the Sirius signal was blocked. This ended up not being a problem. As long as the iPod starts playing and the Sirius tuner is initially working, the PXNI will continue to function even if it loses the signal to the satellites. For example, I can start at home, and everything works fine since my car is outside. The iPod will play fine, and when I get to the office, I thought I would lose the iPod when I pulled into our parking garage. It didn't cut the sound (even though the Sirius signal is lost in my parking garage).

So in summary to this long rambling, it all works great.
