Hi,
I'd like to apologize cause this has been covered many times before.
I live in Kuwait and have just bought a 2007 M45 with 112k Miles on it. The condition of the car is great and when i test drove it i fell in love with it.
I'm planning on buying the Megan axle back exhaust and the mid pipe. I'm confused about one thing though. Is the mid pipe the same as the Y pipe? or do i need to get a custom y pipe too? Would anyone happen to have a pic or diagram of the complete exhaust system that might help me understand?

Number 4 is the Y-Pipe. #6 is the mid-pipe. You will not need a Y-Pipe as you will be breaking the 'connection' between #4 and #6 (where the gasket #7 is).

Either removing the bolts that go through the flange or depending on where you live (please update your profile and provide a general geographic location for future posts) cutting the bolts/flange with a grinder thanks to rust lol.

There are two, and I believe (don't quote me on it though), they are 17MM. Maybe 19MM. I recommend getting some new ones from your local autoparts store that fit through the new flange and some washers too. Get stainless steel ones so they don't rust. And then put some anti-sieze grease on it. You'll be golden then for years to come. :dblthumb:

You're welcome. My apologies, totally missed that you're from Kuwait. You guys probably won't know what rust is, huh? :P

I'm actually from Bombay, India. Been in Kuwait around 7 years. Since Kuwait has quite a decent coastline, there is rust. Not sure how bad it is in comparison though :D

I'm considering getting the R2C intake, megan exhaust and powerstop drrilled/ slotted rotors to start with and then make my way through other bolt on mods :) thanks for replying always!

I'm ordering the Megan mid pipe and axle back in a couple of days.

Ilyakol, you said i won't need a y pipe but the mid pipe bolts on to the stock y pipe, doesn't it?
I've seen the posts where other users have done custom y pipes. If i decide to order a universal y pipe off ebay, what size do i need? From what i've read its 2 1/2 " in and 3" out. The mid pipe is 2.5" though so i'm confused.
