It is weird that the sales guys are telling you this... I've been told that a 2007 model will be out in the fall on 2006. And that makes sense, Unless they plan to make no changes, the serial numbers for the car will be a 2007 date, however it will be a 2006 model year.
I'd be very surpised if they changed model years so soon, when a 2006 is announced in spring of 2005 it normaly means that the car will run for two years, then new model will come out - they want to use the production line for as many units as possible before switching to ensure a good roi. Which is why I would find it surprising;
Not to mention there was a change to this years FX, and another change I was told for the FX is comming out at the end of the year to make it longer/bigger. Not sure if Infiniti has a large number of designers - but the M car is the one that needs the least work in the lineup they carry, and hence investment will be made in other areas, like the FX that really does need an update (Nice SUV, but needs a little bigger back seat!).
Id be very surprised if the 2007 model year starts production/shipping in March. I would not be surprised if the 2006 model year with 2007 serial numbers is being confused as a 2007 model year.
