I purchased what I was told was a plug and play kit to enable me to press lock 3 times and start the car. What I received was a wire harness and a dball2 module flashed for my car. The wiring harness tapped into most of the plugs it needed to unfortunately the plug on it was not compatible with the plug for the key port plug so I had to wire that manually, plus I had to wire manually a wire the the push to start button, no big deal. Anyway - was wondering if anyone else has installed a setup like this and has it working. Here is my problem :

When I am sitting in the car, doors closed and press lock 3 times the unit kicks in and attempts to start the car (ie dash lights come on, radio turns on, etc) but the engine does not turn over. If I hold the brake down and press lock 3 times then the engine will turn over and the car starts but it turns itself right back off.

Does anyone have any info on this? I am stumped. Oh - I also had to run one wire to the BCM plug, that was fine as well.

Are you holding the brake still when it turns off? As far as I know most car start systems turn off as soon as the brake is applied (in case someone was trying to steal it and put it into gear). Try pushing the push the start button, as soon as it's about to start release the brake.

I'll give that a shot, yes I was still holding the pedal down. It is supposedly set up so that once remote started you can just get into the car and drive, no shutting down, just unlock the door and go.

Ahh okay. I don't a system so I'm not sure, just thinking what it could be.
