I am familiar with the good reviews on the Brakemotive rotor/pads kit many of you use. I have a question though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but cross drilled / slotted rotors cannot be turned, but cross drilled rotors can be turned?

I'm wondering what the difference in performance is between the two OI mentioed above and if it is worth getting these rotors instead of the regular stock rotors. I just do regular driving - no races, no track days.

Mind you, there is nothing wrong with my rotors, but the Brakemotive front/rear kit with new ceramic pads sells for close to what a regular brake job costs and you get brand new rotors andpads for all 4 wheels.

Any advise or reviews would be much appreciated, Thanks!

Earlier this week I had to my rear calipers go bad and need to replace them as well as rear rotors and pads, I was thinking the same thing as you Brakemotive brake kit or stick with stock. I chose to stick with OEM vs the Brakemotive kit do to not being able to turn them. The Brakemotive kit looks good but I think OEM will last longer so. At a local shop I got the front and rear done for less then what the dealer was charging for only the rear

I don't know anything about turning, but with everyday standard driving there is no benefit besides looks. If price is your concern and you really want the looks go with r1 concepts. I've been running them for a good while now and no problems and I drive hard.

They can be turned perfectly fine, I had some other brand drilled and slotted rotors turned at Pep Boys. Though for the cost of a whole new Brakemotive kit of rotors and pads I have never done it with those ones, I just bought a new set when it was time since the price is the same and it is all new.

Great point, mate. Who the heck cares IF they can be turned at the next brake job when you can get new ones AND new pads for less!
I read your sig and somethng hooked my eyeball. You did a 55w HID install. Right now I have Ultinon 6k Xenon bulbs running on the factory 35w ballasts. I want to upgrade to the Morimoto 5FIVE Elite ballast kit from The Retrofit Source with Motimoto D2S 5k bulbs.

I know the 55w ballast will make a brigher light, but did you notice any increase in how many feetr the light reaches in front of you car? Also, did you have to bypas the factory wiring and bal;last? Drill a hole in the protrctive cover to run wiring through from the inside by the bulb, out to the harmess / ballast?

Yeah, they are so cheap just get new sets each time you need them. Like Enigma, that's what I've done. I don't bother with turning them. If my tires are coming off for a brake job, they are going on 30 minutes later when I'm done. I don't have time to take another vehicle to a shop to get them turned, etc.

To quote online sensation sweet brown, "Ain't nobody got time for dat!"
