2007 M35 + iSimple for iphone integration

I have a 2007 M35 with the Technology package and i purchased the iSimple device and installed it myself to play music from my iphone. However when i play audio i notice that the audio levels do not get as loud playing from the iphone as it does when i play the same song via an mp3 cd. As i turn the volume dial i can hear the audio changing adjusting. Is this normal? Is there any way i can adjust the audio by using my iphone instead?

Our module will be lower in sound than the CD/AM/FM sources but should be the same as the factory XM audio if equipped. This is due to the radio only accepting a certain level of audio input through the XM port. This is unfortunate but is due to a limitation of the radio.
