Welcome to NICO

While I like the I-series, IMO they have priced them way too high and they don't offer as much as the G (IMO).

Here is another new G35 owner that just made a choice between the two vehicles: zerothread/218696

I originally was looking at the 2006 & 2007 IS 350 as I was looking for something comparable to the WRX STI (which I was driving, in terms of power and size but wanted the additional luxuary). Always being a fan of the G35 as it had comparable power to the IS 350 but in a mid size....

After driving the 2007 G35S and pricing all of the options it was by far a better buy. As far as power and pickup (0-60 and 0-100 they are extreamly comparable). I give agility to the IS but we are comparing compact to mid size. The interiors to both are comparable (at first glance in any case)' I like the G35S interior in the G35 model as it have nice seats (plus all the other options).

I believe that I made the better choice and am extreamly happy with the decsion.

G35 wins hands down. Lexus puts out this model that looks like all the rest. The G35 is amazing and turns heads year after year. Its also easily scalable and i've tossed in a few mods to make it crank out about 350 horses which smokes the Lexus. If you want a Lexus then go for it, but the G is by far the sleekest, fastest most head turning ultimate racing machine anywhere...how could a Lexus handle instant lane changes and deep curves on a moutain road the same. Wowing a date is also fun...women love the power and turning capabilities.

Both cars are nice... I was also looking at Lexus at one time. Guess which car won me over??

The G is one kik a$$ piece of machinery. I agree, alot of the Lexus's look the same. However I was impressed when I came accross the new Lexus ISF pics the other day...but, it's probably going to be 20-25k more, so it's in a different class.

Go G all the way!

I drove the Lexus IS250 six speed, which only comes with the smaller motor. It was very nice, but not very exciting. I can't say much more based upon the five minutes I spent driving it.

The GS, and I got the 2006, and the IS250 are in different leagues in terms of performance. The IS 350's motor would make up the difference, but then I think you'll end up spending more than you would on a comparably equipped G35. I liked the styling better on the G because it is simpler, and less reliant on syling cues that may not look so stylish a few years from now.

While fanatics on either side would argue differently, you can't really go wrong with either choice if the money's not a big issue. In relative terms, both are going to be superb for everyday driving. So long as you don't mind driving a chick car if you bought the Lexus.

The IS looks hot and is about as big as a go cart. The '07 G's are amazing. They have fixed alot of the design issues both in and out on this new model. I would go with the G but both cars have excellent reliability and would be a good buy. Personal preference I guess.

The IS is a nice car. Unfortunately, Toyota's conservative nature showed whe they designed the VDC system. It is not defeatable and intrudes too early t be able to use the potential the chassis and the 3.5 Liters of engine it has.
