Somehow my screen controls issue has corrected itself. Last week out of frustration while driving, (not a good combination) I hit every button on the control module. Just so you know what I'm talking about, the control module is the panel that allows for selection of heat/AC, GPS, fan, rear window defrost etc... When I did this, the screen was completely blank and the radio had stopped working. I figured that this system was completely dead and started to look for a used control module on eBay. I found that many are available and are priced between $50 and $200. I figured for this price I could give it a try. If this was not the solution then I can always send it back for just the cost of shipping. I consulted with my Infiniti dealership. They warned me that if I went this rout then I should be careful to make sure that I get the correct control module for my Infiniti M45 Sport w/ navigation. To do this I should remove my defective unit and get the model/part number from the stamped label on the back. After calling Jay at Auto Gator, who was selling this part on eBay, he told me what part numbers to look for and referred me to the picture of the unit he had listed. There are 2 numbers that should match that look similar the following; T31000A2803004 and 28395 EH100. He said that if my numbers match his parts numbers then they are compatible. Well, I have not yet purchased this used control module. The next morning the system started to work again but then went back to flickering and then went dead. About and hour later while still driving, the screen started up just like it does when I start my car. The Infiniti logo slowly appeared on the screen and stayed there. It's like the system rebooted itself because after stopping for gas and shutting off the car the system came back on and has not flickered or malfunctioned for the past week. I think that the problem was a stuck button on the control unit. The day before when I tapped every button many times in random order, I noticed that the rear defrost button stayed in the pushed in position and did not pop back up. When the unit rebooted I noticed that this button was back in the popped up position. I was told by Jay at Auto Gator that these buttons are not tolerant to heavy hands and should be tapped lightly. Fingers crossed.
