I brought my car into a an alignment service center, they told me a tie rod needed to be replaced. They had to order the part so the car stayed there overnight. The next day when they were installing the tie rod, I got a call from them and they advised the car would not start and the battery was dead. They said they would try and charge the battery and call me back. They called back and said the battery was dead and would need to be replaced. I told them I would come by and grab the "dead" battery and would go and get another one for them to put in. When I went to the place where I originally purchased the battery, they tested it and said it wasn't dead. Strange after being told by the alignment center that the battery was s completely dead? Regardless, the Manager of the store gave me a replacement battery and I took it over to the alignment center to have it installed. The alignment center called a bit later to tell me the car still wouldn't start and they didn't know how to fix it. I had to then get the car towed to the Infiniti dealer to find out what the issue was. It ended being a failure with the Control Assy - Smart K that would need to be replaced to the toon on $1200.00. Needless to say, I was not happy. The Infiniti dealer advised this is NOT a common occurence and very unusual.
I am hoping somebody can tell what would cause the Control Assembly to fail all of a sudden?
Is there something the Alignment shop did they could have caused this failue?
Please help me figure this out.
I am desperately seeking some guidance here.
Dude I would be so pissed, and then they have the nerve to not take responsibility for it. I usually try to take my cars to independent shops and something like this happened to me as well.
I wish you luck. Try to make the alignment shop fix it.
