Hello I need some advice first link to the http://www.gorgesvolvo.com/used/Infinit ... f2627e.htm

This is your typical stock AT G35 at ~67,000 miles

KBB Dealer Price: $19,840
TMV: $16,041 (Marked as excellent condition)

CarFax reported clean, 1 owner. However looks like there are records of regular interval oil changes up to 06/2010 then just kind of stop...Rotors/Drum resurfaced around ~28k miles no records since then.

His response for the condition:
The vehicle is new looking, but it is a 2007. There have been areas that have had touch up paint applied. The engine has not been replaced. We inspected the vehicle and did an oil/lube/filter change, air filter, nitrogen inflation to the tires, new wipers, new seat belt guide, and new drive belts (fan/compressor). The tires are at 60-100% depending on the tire, they are all coopers, the front are 50r17, the rear are 45r17

We have this priced accordingly. The vehicle is clean, but like anything 6 years old it is not perfect."
I asked about the oil consumption issue his response was:
No, we would have done our standard inspection and looked for leaks, but with it not losing oil or smoking, we would not have done an oil consumption test to this or any vehicle. The carfax does not indicate any history of this test being done/requested, but that is all the info I have on that.

1. How much should I offer?
2. Why is there a huge gap between KBB & TMV?

The car looks clean but I have to drive about 4 hours to get it.

It's all a reference. Aim somewhere in the middle and remember that no vehicle is "excellent". Hell, low-ball them and see where they stand.

Standard inspection for "oil consumption" is s*** and carfax would not show it as being requested. You would have to look at the oil change information IF someone listed how much oil was recovered.

I offered 16k, he said we are a one price dealer, he didn't even want to negotiate.

well damn... they probably dont sell many cars. that rigidness alone would turn me to another dealer.

A G with 66k miles and has edvidence regular oil changes/inspections is nothing to run from. But id run from any dealer thats not willing to work with you on price. One thing my mother taught me in dealing with use car dealers, if they are not willing to move on the price, then start requesting that they replace wear items like brakes/rotors to make up the "difference". most of these used car dealers have in house mechanics, and its basically free labor in the dealers eyes since they already paying the mechanic.

Good point kmckis1029, I will take note to that, thanks! Yeah he won't budge at all. Sang me the same song when I said I was open to negotiate. Well I'm working on a second dealer on another 07, she said she can help a couple hundreds off, but not thousands, lol, that one might dead too.

Then walk. If they don't want your business there are plenty who do. Jump on cars.com/autotrader/craigslist. We just picked up a cheap beater for the daughter and got it for $3k less than dealerships were selling them around here and with +30k less miles (craigslist)

Yeah definitely, I walked a way from 2 dealers so far. One had a stock 06 @ 45k miles for 17.5k I managed to get it down to 16.5k, thought I could squeeze another 500 off from him but he sold it last Wednesday. Another dealer is willing to offer me his silver @ 50k miles for 14.7k but I'm just not feeling the silver color at all. Hopefully another clean black one will come by.

Cheers.

Just keep at it, eventually you will find what you want at the price you are willing to pay.
