Hi Folks,

I'm a new member. I just joined today. I've heard many great things about this forum. I have a 2007 G35X sedan. Two weeks ago I bought an extra key from E-bay. Can someone please post the programming procedure?

Thank You.

I think the only ones that can program a key to a car is the dealership since they use a reader for it. Runs you about 50-80$

1+ to take it to the dealer. The older models you canreprogramit by yourself but not 07+.

Also I believe you can't have more then 2 remote.

Another question from me. Is it brand new and before or after the recall keyfob? The reason I asked because the last thing you want to have a crapy fob.

Thats not a bad idea, you can take the key to the dealership and tell em its an old fob and they do the reprogram for free!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your answers. Sorry for getting back to you so late. I was out of town for a while due to a death in the family.

Regarding the key fob recall.

Does that include an 07 G35X 4 door sedan?

Does anyone know the number of the recall?

Thanks

Yes 07g35x was involved. Not all of them. Maybe half a year or so. To check it all you have to do is take the key out from the slot and where the key was should be a litlle circle. If the circle is there you have the updated one if not you can go to your dealer and they will replace it for you.

I think people are buying a lot of x's... I have seen a lot of them as well as a few xS's on the sedans

It's hard getting a "non-X" in New England. When I bought my 05 in Rhode Island, they had 40 G's and ALL were G35X's. The dealer said they sent all the non-x's down to "Yoots" in the South. When I bought my 07, they only had one "S" and all the rest were X's.

Part of me sure does, but the low profile tires are living hell on slick roads. I had 45's on my BMW 540 with an "S" package and the car was literally not driveable in any kind of slick roads. 50 lbs of pressure makes them slippery as an eel. Plus, the "X-S" was not available yet when I bought mine.
