I have a 2007 g35. getting 12-13mpg city. 19-20 mpg highway.don't really drive car agressively. spoke to dealer who says thats what g35 gets even though sticker claims 19-28mpg. Is this normal for this vehicle? Has anything being done by infinity to corrects?

That doesn't sound normal to me.

I have a 07 G35 journey sedan and I get 20-22 combined city/hwy rush hour driving. I also beat on my car everyday.

On a trip from Phoenix to Long Beach I got 25 MPG on the way to LGB and 23 MPG on the way home. I was driving very fast on the way home. Send me a PM if you want to know my average speed on the return trip and my top speed on the return trip

My wife drives the G a lot during the week and she get 18-19 mpg all rush hour city no highway.

If it were my G I'd take it to a different dealer and see if you get a different answer.

Hopefully some of the X owners with chime in with their gas mileage.

You must drive exactly like the EPA MPG TEST to achieve the published results. Also you must purchase the correct EPA TEST GASOLINE not usually available at local gas stations.

I think that's what I get. Not sure because I don't check it. Try it on HWY to see how it goes. I had a boring drive once(huge traffic) and get a lot better mpg but I hate driving like granny. So I learn not to care about mpg. I had a Saab 9-5 before. Wasn't better then the G.

Even so, getting 63% of the EPA rating is pretty steep.

To the OP, I would do an ECU reset and see if that helps at all. Also check your oil to make sure you actually have some in there hehehe.

I think the worst I've gotten on my coupe is 16MPG, but I can't seem to top 19 either

i think i avg about 17m but i have always said u dont get a G and think your going to get 25+ miles its a performance car. what is so hard to understand about that and i know it sucks now that the gas is in the 4$ range but i didnt buy my G cause it had great gas mileage now lets get back to all the Threads about how we all love your Gs

My G only has 2500 miles on it so I don't have all the results I had on my Max. However, I've driven several trips that matched the ones I did in the Max and the results are amazingly accurate. The Max got, almost to the foot, 10% better mileage. In town, stop and go, short trips, G = 16.4, Max was 18.2Half and Half G = 18.5 , Max was = 20.5Freeway, (hilly), G =22.2, Max was 24.5 for the same trip. (multiple times)Freeway, (level), G ?, Max = 30.1 (extrapolating, level freeway should be about 27 in the G)

I believe the figures Gwoods poster are valid. We both have VQHR's and 5ATs, and are seeing similar mileage. I use cruise control whenever possible and don't drive aggressively. (Freeway 72-75mph.)

The bottom line is that I'm more disappointed in the price of gas than I am in my Gs consumption. Pearl is here to stay.

Pretty logical that a FWD gets better MPG than a RWD due to lower drive line friction [no long driveshaft and a more effcient differential and lighter weight]. The G has a diff gear designed more for acceleration than the Max] added together 18% sounds about right.

I can usually get around 18 MPG with all city driving, and I don't drive my car easily, but I don't whip it around turns either down town. But I do drive more aggressively and faster than 95% of my friends, too. I dunno, I just drive. On the freeway I can get 26 MPG doing 75-80.

It's interesting that you say it that way. After seeing a few of our members drive their cars and also many other G35 owners, it's amazing to see the contrast in driving styles.

I consider myself to be a very conservative driver with my G, but my wife thinks I drive like a maniac.

Welcome to NICO

I would say you are close to normal as far as the highway mileage. I get 22-23 MPG as the 6sp manuals get a little better mileage than the 5 speed auto'sCheck your tire pressure.Perhaps the wife or gf has gained a little weight?

Sorry, I couldn't resist

My wife's stock 2007 G35x has a little over 14k miles and never gets over 20 mpg. The usual mpg range is 17 to 20. Using premium fuel. Pretty disappointing, but you are driving a pretty quick car and you need to suck-up the trade-off.

Beating the crap out of my 07 g35x at 18K miles I was getting 12.6mpg COMBINED (70% city/30% Highway)

Now I'm a little over 130miles into my 08 G35xS and I'm over 15.5 COMBINED. Part due because it started off with 14miles on it and MPG was at 10.4mpg!! (I think they abused it or left it idling too long) a bit It's too close to tell, but now I'm generally taking it pretty slow and easy, no hard acceleration or anything. I'll report back when I'm at 1K miles.

EPA tests are FUBAR until they employ new methods, they are done in wind tunnels that have absolutely 0 drag, resulting in companies getting way better results for their cars then what they get IRL.

Your car has issues. You should get it checked. My car weighs more than yours and I can't get that kind of fuel economy unless I drive around WOT all the time.

They do, but its only about 1MPG less or so. I don't think there is anything wrong with the car, I just think its in line with the high performance car your gonna get low MPG.

I should also put a disclaimer, but when I've done a lot of city driving on a tank of gas and I know I really haven't kicked it, then I'll check my mileage. If I know I've torn it up, I'll let it go. So you could say that what I said earlier are maximums. But they are attainable with my "normal" driving style.

Love it, but my hands are itchy. I got it tinted two days ago. I'm getting Impull grille and my stillen JDM spolier painted and installed on Monday. Hopefully today I can go ahead and install the intake. I already bought the lights to replace the stock amber turn signal/park light.

After all this is done I'm going to drop it with some H&Rs, eventually painting headlights + taillights.

Last 2 days (yesterday afternoon till tonight)I was driving like granny to see how the mpg comes alone. So I can report back. It was 60% city 40% hwy. I've got 18-19 mpg. Nothing wrong with our X. It is just us. I don't think I'll ever do this again. 2 of my hardest day in the G. If I had to do this every day. Might as well just sell the car and buy a damn Prius. Yesterday my wife came with me and she looked around she thought there is a cop around us. She turned and asked what happened. I told her I try to see what mpg I can get. She asked me if I am alright. She offered me her 4 banger. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Are you sure about that?! I'm the one who got him all crazy into this car! Before he met me he had his '07 for well over a month, no tint, no mods whatsoever. I had to keep bugging him to get tint on that car. Now he's all buyin parts before he even got the new car! BUT who was the one who washed/waxed his black G today............ME!

We are experiencing the same dismal fuel mileage.

Put some Seafoam Motor Treatment through the induction this afternoon. Hope it helps. Engine runs smoother now.

Also ordered some of them nice Nippon Denso .4mm iridium core plugs. Can't hurt to install them.

Personally, 11-12 mpg around town easy on it is way too low mileage for our 05 sports coupe with 22K miles.

My wife loves the car so much, she could care less about the low fuel mileage.

I have an X and am at about 18.5mpg driving like a wuss since I only have about 550 miles. 90% city 10% highway. In the end, if i'm at 18mpg i'll be happy.

Well I know this is anathema to many G owners but give this a try.Replace your air filter1- Inflate tires to 35lbs when cold2- Fill tank as close to fill tube as possible whenever you are going to drive at least 30 miles to allow for gas expansion in tank3- Set mileage odometer A to zero.At 1/4 tank, refill same as #2 and divide gallons into mileage traveled.Repeat with three tankfuls of premiumRepeat 3 times with unleaded regular

I suspect that your mileage may increase?
