2007 G35 to have 306hp

In April, Nissan unveiled the 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan to the public, but did not provide specific details about the car's engine. At the time, the automaker said it would simply feature the next-generation VQ-series 3.5-liter DOHC V6. Infiniti has since confirmed the engine will have 306 horsepower as certified by the new SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards.

Power should be considerably greater than that of the previous non-SAE 280 horsepower engine. It's also worth pointing out that the next-generation coupe — based on the Infiniti Coupe Concept — will not be sold as a 2007 model, but rather as a 2008.

Infiniti lists the 2007 G35 Coupe with identical specs to the 2006 model. There is some speculation that the 2008 coupe will go by the name of Infiniti G37, and offer slightly more displacement and power than the sedan. The G37 trademark was registered by Nissan in January.

I'm also driving down to the infinti dealer int he morning and putting a deposit on one!I was in looking at a QX SUV the other day, and the rep called me and we started chating about the fact I purchased a Benz (ML320 CDI), and that I was headed into the shop in the morning for some sched maintaince. We got to talking about the new skyline and how upset he was that its going to be a nissan name plate, and how a group of dealers in the US have started to lobby infiniti corp to have this changed;

They he mentioned he had a guy come in and already put a deposit down on the G37/2008...To shorten this story, I decided that I needed one, and if it looks like the pictures posted above, I'm sold!

Has anyone heard any more details on it, or know anything concreate, sales rep was telling me this new car will have a 9GB harddrive in it for your music and a new Bose "studio on wheels" system for audio.

There is even speculation that a AWD version and a V8 are going to be available...

anways, the deposit is subject to a test drive and final prices - so what the heck, I'm buying one! tk
