I have a 2007 G35 Sedan Sport (automatic). Purchased in Dec 2006. I got the cruise control update which corrected the downhill surge problem and I also got the accelerator sensitivity update. After the cruise update, I noticed that when the cruise control was on, I would have a speed lag right after the car went down a hill and started to climb back up a hill. I would have a speed reduction of 4 mph and sometimes 5 mph. I brought it to the dealer and they said there wasn't anything they could do. What's funny, they didn't even care to go for a test drive to see what I was talking about. I still have the problem and it's driving me nuts! Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thanks

Sorry not much help here. I don't know if there are too many G owners using Cruise controll. I know I don't I tried it once to see if it works and that's about it.

Isn't 3-4 mph the exeptable limit?

I hardly use mine....

Normally i have a Surge of 10-20 MPH on the down hill and.... We you get the idea.... About the same on the UP HILL

I drive the G like i stole it and never use mine!

But when I have used it... It only changes like 1 or 2 miles per hour....

I used it once on the Skyway Bridge in tampa... and It never went below the 91 MPH i had it set at

I wish the damn thing would let you set the limit at any speed...

I use mine every day on my 50 mile commute to work and never had a problem

Thanks for replying to my post but even typical rental cars (I rent a lot of vehicles for my job) are able to maintain 1 -2 mph. I guess I will give the dealer one more chance and if they don't fix the problem, I will never buy another Infiniti!

Do you have the Technology package? If you do, the cruise control may be responding to the presence of traffic ahead of you.

My 2008 G37S doesn't vary more than 1 or 2 mph while on cruise. Yours shouldn't either. You have a warranty that is intended to handle situations like this. If the dealer can't find and fix the problem, complain to Infiniti. Continue complaining until you get satisfactory results.

if you have ICC, then the laser is reading traffic, or the road curving upwards throws it off for a second, but if you have standard cruise control, it reacts a little slower because of the throttle desensitivity from the reprogram. I love the Cruise control on my G, and use it quite often. I think its great, as it performs better than the system I've used in GM vehicles, Chrysler, and torqueless h0nd@ vehicles. (Yes, after I drive a honda I sit in the bathtub and cry as cold water washes off all the vtec residue) Read your manual if you have ICC, you can reduce the following distance to make it less sensitive.

You can deactivate ICC so that it behaves like conventional cruise control. You have to do this every time you turn on the cruise control. Another way is to tape over the laser.

Thanks for you input guys but I have standard cruise control. Infiniti knows there is a problem but just isn't admitting it. If you work for Nissan, pleade don't waste my time with your BS replies.

Wow somebody is bitter.

Funny thing is there is an easy fix for your problem. A really easy one too. Most likely all the guys who works for Nissan/ Infiniti knows it but after this comment don't think they help you.
