2007 G35-S Sedan 6MT

Hey guys just registered for the site today, but have been reading some of your thoughts for a while now.

My question is about performance upgrades on the 07 g35-s sedan 6mt. I love the sound of the VQ, so i wouldnt want to put anything on that would "rice up" the sound of the engine, but performance-wise what have you guys been doing or know of that you could recommend??

I know since the engine supposedly has new parts for 2007 i am sure there arent too many things out there, but even exhaust-wise do any of you guys like a specific exhaust that doesnt sound too "ricey" but still gives you the performance you hoped for? or should i stick with the stock exhaust for now and wait for the superchargers, turbos, etc..

Hi Bob, Welcome to the forum.

Just my opinion, but I'd say leave the car alone, enjoy it, and learn its strengths/weaknesses first, then decide later which way you want to go with it. FYI, you can pump a lot of $$$ into these cars and not come close (overall performance) to the other makes factory cars you are trying to beat. A new exhaust or CAI swap might sound fast but the dollars spent to achieve those results can sure be wasteful.

Enjoy the car for what it is, and instead pump your $$$ into a few high-performance driving courses so you can extract the most performance out of your car and without ever adding more weight to it in performance 'mental mods'. There's nothing more gratifying than beating a 'higher-performance' car by driving skill alone!

thats true cobrajet.....you dont spend 35k+ on a car for performance alone or i'd be driving an evo or sti. but i just couldnt bear spending 35k on a car and stepping inside of it and being lucky to just have a single disc cd with an interior that my 98 honda accord would be ashamed of.
