I live in Northern Virginia and am in the market for a 2007 G35 w/performance and sport tuned package or a 2008 G37 w/performance and nav. Has anyone recently bought a G37 who owned a G35 that can comment on both? I understand that Infiniti of Chantilly will actually deal on G37s. Thanks, I'm new to the site.

You should try the g37 forum you may have more response. I would go for the 08.

The G37 is a refined version of the G35 coupe. It is quieter and more comfortable. The electronics are better integrated. It is at least as fast and handles better, especially on rough surfaces. The engine sounds better, is more powerful and is slightly more economical. The clutch is lighter and the transmission shifts more smoothly. The G35 is a good car and a used one would be a good bargain for someone who can't afford a new G37. But there is no doubt that the G37 is a substantially better car.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to drive both vehicles and can tell a difference (G37 has a more refinement over the G35). Believe it not I had my hopes on a used Corvette, but enjoyed the G coupes so much that I am rethinking my options.

The G37 ride is phenominal: firm in the corners, but smooth and not overly rigid on the straight aways. If you can, get the NAv/DVD package. The system appears to be more integrated than in the G35. The voice commmands and backup camera are great, while 9.3 G memory for music is nice.

I can't comment on the G35 as I haven't owned one, just a 350Z and now the G37.

Infiniti of Chantilly might deal on the outgoing G35s but they aren't dealing on G37s. At least, not on mine they didn't. Full sticker, period. Can send the email reply from their internet salesman if you're interested.

Thanks for the info. I have also been looking at a 350Z convertible. Did you enjoy yours?

The sales people at Chantilly are now taking about $5000 off the MSRP for the G35. Makes for a hard decision.

Just mentioning.... if you do decide to go the 350Z convertible route, there will be a new.. 370Z (like G37) coming out next year I believe only in coupe form though and convertible later on.

Hey Brobb, Here on the Maryland side of the river I have seen several 2007 G35 (new) up to $10,000.00 to 15,000.00 off. Pretty tempting but once in a "37" theres no turning back!

BTW speaking of convertibles, the G37 is to introduce one in the next year or so... another decision made of stone.

Good luck on it.

I owned a 350Z coupe, but the roadster should ride the same. My fiance worked with a guy that had a roadster, he said he felt there was too much body flex in the twisty corners. I didn't feel this when I test drove one, so YMMV. The coupe was definitely a fun car.

The G35 is nice, but frankly the interior was almost identical to my Z and the price difference was substantial at the time. Chantilly has a used Z on the lot. You could drive that back-to-back with a G35 and G37, and draw your own conclusions Any of the 3 will be an enjoyable car though.

BTW if you decide on a Z, check prices at CarMax in Baltimore - they sell new Nissans - and Brown's in Sterling. I bought from Browns, they did right by me. CarMax will have the best price, though.
