I went to the movies on Friday. And at the movies, ther ewas this 350 Z parked int he lot. After the movies we all went on our merry good way home. However, the 350Z seemed to be looking for a kill. The 350Z seemed like one of those Fairlady or Nismo Zs---had the high rear spoiler and rear clear corners and greyish wheels. So, we went at it. It was a rolling move, and I was surprised how quickly the 350z with HR engine took off---very agile. So, he won that round.

Next round, we go into another rolling move and I gunned it, and he could not make up the distance as i was about 3/4 of a car length ahead of him. so, I won that round.

However, I won't use this small and short experience to suggest that the G-35 Coupe with a VQ35DE engine can go at it with 100% confidence against a 350Z with a VQ35HR engine. The HR engine in the 350Z is a very potent animal. The responsive HR engine and the lighter weight of the z is a very significant factor in its performance.

I am of the beleif that the VQ35HR in the 350Z maybe able to smoke many V-8s out there. It was extremely responsive by any measure you want to use.

If the HR engine in the 350Z is that responsive, i wonder how much more responsive and powerful the 370Z will be? Thye G-35 clearly had a weight disadvantage to the Z I met this night. But I am still impressed with the G-35 Coupe. Really nice car.

I've test driven a bunch of Z's and look forward to getting behind the wheel of the new 370! Was very tempted when I got serious about getting the coupe!

Yeah I am looking forward to testdrive one. As much as I like the Z power. I am not much into the interior. But that has ben fixed with the 370. It has an amazing interior. I dig it. Not sure how much I am going to like that new clutch they have in it. But I guess we will see that.

The 370 is under 5 second car. Makes me wonder what they are going to do with the G coupe. They are usually pair with the Z on speed. But looks like right now the Z will be faster then the G. Till next year anyways.

About a month ago ldstang50 (he has a Nismo 350Z) and myself went for a very spirited drive in the mountians. I was lead, and he was deff. faster in the corners then i was. (his car filled my rearview mirror entering corners) But coming out of the corners, I could not pull way from him, and he could not pull in on me. He even commented on how even the cars were coming out of the corners and down the straights.

Yeap that's how I felt whenever I drove a coupe or the 350. But the 370 according to the news going to be faster. More of a high 4 second car. It is going to rape the G.

That's why I think they will do something to the G next year to equal them out.At least I think so.
