Welcome to NICO!

The 05-07 coupes are exactly the same. The 03-04 models are non-REVUP versions of the VQ engine. Might I suggest the Stillen PopCharger with a Z-tube. Check out these guys for good prices.

The 03-04 engines are an older design of the VQ35. The 05-07 versions have what's called a REVUP. It increased the max RPMs by using different components and a redesigned intake setup. They also added variable exhaust valve timing (they both have variable intake valve timing). Do a search to find out more.

As far as what to get...I'll make it easy for ya!

haha thanks man i guess this is the outline for my performance modifications! lol just a few questions.. what exactly does the plenum spacer do? and which of those upgrades will possibly void my warranty? and what can i do to avoid voiding warranty if i install those parts? also would you suggest also getting a throttle body spacer? oo and a big question.. i was reading the mrev2 info and it said about some of the vqs running lean with the spacer.. does my 5at have that problem?

The plenum spacer increases the volume inside the upper intake plenum for more usable power in the RPM range. For G35's with the REVUP (05-07), the MREV2 will give the most gains with use of the spacer. Check out this site for info: http://www.motordyneengineering.com/faq.htm

Here's the thing on warranty's...

Any modifications you do to your car that have a direct affect on the system that failed, will void the warranty.

To put it another way, if you put on an intake and your throttle body fails, then you might not get warranty work done for that item (out of pocket). However, if you put on an intake system, and your seats no longer recline, because your mod has nothing to do with the problem, it will be covered under the factory warranty. The main one that bites people is suspension mods.

I don't recommend putting headers on the car. The gains are very minimal, and the cost on the install is high. If you want better exhaust breathing, get a CAT-back exhaust system. For even more power, off-road pipes that replace the cats will give you a good boost (for track days).

In PA, Infiniti has to PROVE that your mods caused damage.....you might even be able to get that throttle body covered. Not that I've been there.
