I find the pickup category very interesting. None of the ones ranked in the top are actually pickup trucks . The Avalanche and the Escalade, which are virtually the same vehicle, are not pickup trucks. They are considered SUT's. The Ford Sport Trac is basically an Explorer with a mini bed. Even Ford considers the Sport Trac an SUV.

I don't get how the FIT was only .1 points under the Versa in the "comfort/roominess" catagory. Did these people actually sit in the BACK seat of these vehicles?

I saw a bit of how this was done on TV.. Basically.. they have all the vehicles parked into a parking lot at an airport. They are sorted by class and price. In the rear window is a spec sheet (like you see at the dealership, with costs and features)

Then, All the auto journalists run around, grab a vehicle and test drive it. But there is only one person in a car at a time. So there would be little judgeing on the back seating. This is partially due to time, the journalists are trying to get a ride in as many vehicles as possible over the 3 days. (I doubt anybody drove all of them)

Good thing some of us actually test drove the cars before deciding instead of relying on a magazine!

Thanks for the info!
