Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

A couple weeks ago I went to start my car, foot on the brake, push the start button, and it will only go to the ACC position. No engine crank or anything. Try it a couple times, no luck. Jump start the car and I'm off. A day later the same thing happens, so I have the battery replaced. The car has been working fine for a couple weeks, and this morning I go to start it and the same problem occurs. The battery can't possibly be bad, I don't leave my lights on or anything. I'm just kind of scratching my head at this. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like something screwy in the push button electronics - i would take it to the dealer and let them know what's up.

Faulty brake switch I would guess. I have seen several.

Absolutely right. Figured it out last night. Noticed I couldn't see my third brake light come on when I stepped on the brake. Any idea how much that would cost to repair?

The switch should be pretty cheap. You can install your self very easy, just look on brake pedal there is brown switch and black switch. You need to replace black one, half turn counterclockwise. JUST MAKE SURE HOW FAR OLD SWITCH IS PUSHED IN. It is possible to cram switch down to far and make brakes drag. If look at end of switch there is a white peice that moves in and out. I usally push the switch in to this is bottomed out. Good luck

I had the same problem. I took the switch apart and found one of the contacts had build up. Cleaned the contact and put everything back, worked like a charm. It took me 10 mins tops to do this.
