Looking at a 2007 Altima 2.5 S. How do tell if it's CVT or not? If it is CVT, what should I check for? Seemed to drive and shift fine.

That's easy. If you have to shift gears to drive, it's a manual transmission, otherwise it's a CVT. The ONLY automatic transmission offered for your model year was a CVT. BTW, if you open your hood there should be a warning label advising to use only Constant Variable Transmission fluid to avoid damaging the transmission.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find anywhere if CVT was the only automatic transmission offered in 07 on the Altima.
